A visit to the infamous Kings Park & Jadran Winery with Fiona

Joanne, Leila & Fifi - Kokoda Memorial, Kings Park
Today is Monday the 22nd of November 2010. The weather is fair - approximately 26 degrees from what had just been an unforgiving scorching heat in the last four days ... a short period of heat wave with the temp hitting an averaging 39 degree mark for three days straight.
The kids, as usual, had to be woken up in the morning and which they did reluctantly, thanks to their dad's threat of the use of his shoe horn. We all painstakingly chipped in to get them prepared for school... . Fiona, my hubby and I. After the kids were dropped off at school I hinted to my hubby of the idea for a drive out of the house to take a breather and perhaps rejuvenate. He agreed to the idea. In addition, it would be another opportune time to show Fifi some places of interest she'd heard of but never been to. For today, it was the Perth's infamous and world re-known King's Park which provides a breath taking view of not only the Perth metro skyline but the quintessential surrounds and beauty of Perth city. The awesomely sparkling Swan River happily contributing to the city's uniqueness and beauty.

Joanne, Leila & Fifi - Kings Park
We drove around the city with our last born Leila being nit-picky at times about issues of less importance..at least to us. Once we got to  Kings Park, all the hassles by Leila were gone as we embarked on enjoying the promises of the Park. It was wow! and OMG! for Fifi. I guess we were all in the same boat too  even given that we've lived here for a while now and are constant visiors. We took pictures, visited the Kokoda Memorial and other exciting establishments there. We also took Fifi on an exploratory visit of Subiaco, the Northern section of Perth City and showed her the home ground of two famous AFL teams the Freemantle Dockers and West Coast Eagles, the Subiaco Stadium. It is also a common venue for rugby union test matches. My hubby is more qualified to give a hint on this as he does not seem to miss a rugby test match held here since he first arrived here three years ago.

Joanne & Fifi - Ready for Jadran wines
Although as much as we wanted to show Fifi other places, time was not on our side as we had to make tracks. First to our wantoks Aewai Selan and family at Carlisle to collect our supply of buai and daka and second, to visit Jadran, a winery  within our turf  (Maddington/Kenwick) for just a bottle. The latter was on our cards as we had made a promise to Fifi that we'd take her to a winery.. let her have a few free sips and decide a 2 litre bottle for the evening. We kept our promise. A promise made must be a promise kept, right? From there we headed back home, picked up the kids from school and the rest...as they say about life in the house...the cycle keeps repeating itself.

Unwinding with free sips of Jadran wine before purchase.
